Pear Galette

Ingredients:

1 Round 12” Pie Dough or 1 Pastry Sheet

3 Ripe Pears

1/4 Cup Cane Sugar

1 Tbsp Corn Starch

1/2 Tbsp Cinnamon

1/2 Tbsp Kosher Salt

1 Tbsp Butter

1 Egg (for egg washing)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Chop pears into 1/4” cubes and toss into large bowl.

  3. Mix in sugar, kosher salt, cinnamon, and cornstarch. Mix well until pears are evenly coated.

  4. Lay out pie crust onto greased sheet tray. Place Pear mixture into center of the dough.

  5. Gently fold dough over the edges of the pears, folding where necessary so the center of the galette is completely open.

  6. Crack egg into small bowl, use a brush to wash over the exposed dough. Finish off with sprinkling sugar across the cross.

  7. Bake for 20-30 min. Galette should be golden brown.
